Compassionate Father, nurturer and creator of all creators, receive the supplication of your servants at this evening hour, for you are generous toward everyone with your gifts. Have mercy, O lord, on the whole world and on your holy church, on the sick, on those who are in pain, or travelers by land, sea or air, on those who bear witness to their faith, on those who are in penance, and those who have fallen asleep. For you, almighty Lord, know our needs and our wants more than what we ask or comprehend. To you, with your Son and most holy Spirit, befits glory, lordship and honor, now and forever and ever. I give you thanks, my Lord and my God, and I praise and glorify your holy name. During the night you protected me, your unworthy and sinful servant, against all dangers and temptations, and brought me in peace to this morning hour and made me worthy to see the light of your mercy.

And now I pray to you, my Lord and my God, protect me during this day also with your all-powerful right hand, and save me from all harmful events, all thoughts, words and deeds that may lead to sin. Direct my steps so that sins will not dominate me.

Lead me into good thoughts, words of truth, and useful and sinless deeds.

Be the guide and overseer of me, your fallible servant, in all my steps, and save me during this day from the temptations of the devil. Direct the works of my hands and crown them with success. You provide for the needs of my soul and body, and bring me to the evening hour in peace, free from sins and mishaps. So that in that hour also I may praise your Holy Trinity, to whom befits glory forever and ever.
